SNEAK PEAK.

“There comes a time when you just gotta get up, get out from under the shade,
pull your team together and go to the point of no return.
To the best of my understanding, faith is trusting God enough
to obey what He has said, and hope is having confidence that
God will do everything He has promised.”

This fall, I am hoping to introduce many things to Children's Community, and in doing so, I could use some volunteers:

  • I am in the process of looking for one volunteer each month to teach Children's Church on the first Sunday. The material would be provided, so it would merely mean teaching the class.
  • I am also in the process of trying to recruit new members for the Children's Ministry Committee.

If you are interested in either of the two volunteer opportunities, just send me an email at kristen.main@communitybaptistchurch.org. I would really appreciate your help!

In other news. Here's a SNEAK PEAK of what fall means for our Children's Ministry:

SECOND FRIDAY: A night, once a month, catered to children and their families--providing time where kids can be kids and family life can be encouraged.

  1. September 10- Family Relay and Pizza Party
  2. October 8- Just for Kids: Costume Party and Silly Games
  3. November 12- Family Movie Night, featuring "The Blindside"
  4. December 10- Just for Kids: Caroling and Delivering Gifts to a nursing home
GA PROGRAM: It is my hope to revive this program and get more than just one girl in here every week. To see that happen, we will be having an Extreme Makeover Edition- a night to redecorate our room, a night for makeovers, a night with a Bible Study based on God making over our spirits. The date is yet to be determined, but I will get it in the works and on the calendar very soon!

We will also be having dinner out once a month on Wednesday nights. A night to switch up the scenery and enjoy each others' company and Bible Study over dinner. Starting date, yet to be determined

There's your SNEAK PEAK of fall happenings!

I look forward to seeing where God takes us these next few months,

Beautiful Hands and Feet

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the Good News."

One of the faithful women of the church came up to me when I was separating toys and she asked me who they were for, she glanced down at the sign...and though she couldn't read English.
She began to realize it all, and began to exclaim, "this is beautiful, what a beautiful gift for our children." She ran over to the others and told them all about the church in America,
who thought of them and sent them toys.

I can't depict the joy in their chocolate eyes, or the glee that could be heard in their voice.
Yet, it was something beautiful- and you and your children had a hand in it all...

Here's to Our Memories...

So winter, spring and summer have flown by, and here we are soon to be saying goodbye to the oppressing heat and hello to the crunching of leaves beneath our feet. There are quite a few memories that need to be mentioned, before they are all but forgotten.

So here is to our memories, dear, Children's Community...
may we make many more, in the time to come.

1. Fiesta: A time for fellowship, fun, and tacos...and it was quite a successful start to our toy and coin drive, I must say.

2. Kids Quest: A time for kids to be kids and fully embrace summer as a time of release and freedom. We enjoyed movies, water games, crafts, many games of tag, and a few outings here and there.

3. Camp: Cailey and Justin and I ventured to Murray, KY to take in Passport Camp. It was quite an enjoyable time from their creative lunch concoctions, water games, worship and the down time provided a great time to get to know each other.

For Such a Time is This:

So this is something I have had in mind for quite some time...and as I have kept moving on this part of my journey, it has became all the more evident-that these stories need to be heard. That these memories should be remembered and not just left to collect dust in the back of our minds.

God has blessed me with this opportunity and I want this to be a place where we can give Him the thanks for our time here, together, because your children will grow and God will take me somewhere else onto my next chapter soon, yet until that time and even afterward- may these sweet memories be kept here for all to see, may these beautiful stories not remain unheard.

Thank you for seeing to it, that I can be a part of this,

Kristen
